Another incident of job fraud has come to light from Pune, where a woman was allegedly duped to the tune of Rs 20 lakh under the pretext of securing a government. The police have booked a father-son duo involved in the scam. As per the police, the accused initially gained the trust of the victim by claiming to have influential contacts in the government machinery and assured her of a government job.
The victim, who is a resident of the Katraj area in Pune, has filed a complaint at the Bharti Vidyapeeth Police, and accordingly, a case has been registered against the accused, Sunil Namdev Gadkar, and his son, Kiran Sunil Gadkar, both residents of Ambegaon Budruk.
According to the police, the accused was introduced to the complainant through a common friend. The accused assured the complainant of a government job, claiming that they have high-level connections with high-ranking officials within the government that will help her secure a government job.
Later, the accused demanded money from the complainant. The complainant paid Rs 19.19 lakh to the accused at regular intervals from July. After waiting for a long time when the complainant did not receive any response from the accused, she called him and asked about the job offer. The complainant grew suspicious when the accused gave vague answers. Realising that she was duped, the complainant rushed to the police station and filed a complaint against the accused father and son. A case has been registered, and further investigation is carried out by Assistant Police Inspector Vishwas Bhabad of the Bharti Vidyapeeth Police Station.
