In a shocking turn of events, the Yerwada police recovered an 8- to 10-day-old unidentified body in a decomposed state from the bushes opposite Gunjan Theatre in the Yerwada area of Pune on November 07 at around 08:00 am. As per the police, the body was found in a decomposed state, and the skull and major body parts were devoured by the stray dogs. The lower part of the body was found intact by the police.

The preliminary investigation stated that the body was of an unidentified person. The body has been sent to the Sassoon General Hospital for autopsy and further investigation. The police stated that the presence of street dwellers and baggers is high in the area, and the body may belong to a street dweller as no suspicious activity or item was recovered.

The Yerwada police have initiated an investigation, and a further probe is underway.
