Assembly Elections 2024: Manoj Jarange Patil Withdraw From Upcoming Elections

Maratha community leader Manoj Jarange Patil, who was fighting for Maratha reservation, has decided to withdraw his candidates from the upcoming Maharashtra assembly elections. Earlier he had announced the list of constituencies where he had decided to field his candidates from the Maratha community. Yesterday, he had clarified his position regarding which constituency to contest elections on Sunday and where to drop the candidate. After that, Jarange has made a big decision today. He has withdrawn from the assembly elections.

Manoj Jarange Patil held a press conference today (October 4). In this press conference, he clarified his position regarding the assembly elections.

Speaking on this occasion, Jarange Patil said, “we were going to field Dalit and Muslim candidates with our allies in the assembly elections. Because, it is not possible for us to contest and win elections on the strength of one caste or community. Also we are still new to politics. Our community will be ashamed if we put up our candidate and fail in the elections. Therefore, we have decided not to contest the assembly elections.”

“Because of this, I request all the Maratha candidates to withdraw their nominations. Elections are not your aristocratic business. It is not possible to win an election on the strength of one caste. Also it was unanimously decided that it is not possible to proceed on one caste. Therefore, it was decided that we do not want to contest the election. Manoj Jarange Patil said at this time that it was decided in our meeting that we will withdraw our candidates from the assembly elections.” Added Jarange.
