Pune Assembly Elections 2024: Two Candidates With Similar Name In Vadgaon Sheri Constituency, NCP (Sharad Pawar) objects

The battle for assembly elections is in full swing the candidates are using all possible tricks of the trade to make sure they win. Almost all the parties of the Mahayuti and Mahavikas Aghadi and other parties have declared their candidates. October  29 is the last date for filing the nominations candidates from all parties have filed their papers. A total of 56 candidates have filed applications from Vadgaon Sheri Constituency in Pune. While Bapusaheb Pathare is the candidate from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Sharad Chandra Pawar party, another candidate bearing a similar name Bapu Baban Pathare has filed his independent candidature form from Vadgaon Sheri Constituency, now two Bapu Pathare’s have entered this election field in Vadgaon Sheri Constituency.

The NCP (SP) has objected to the candidate with a similar name while their official former MLA Bapu Pathare has filed his nomination form from the NCP Sharad Chandra Pawar party in the Vadgaon Sheri assembly constituency

Bapu Baban Pathare of Mandavagan village in Ahilyanagar district also filed his independent candidature yesterday. The NCP objected to the candidature of independent candidate Bapu Pathare and said that the candidate had not given any information about his nomination.

Surendra Pathare while talking to newsnetwork360.com said, “Yesterday a dummy candidate was brought from Srigonda by the relatives of our rival candidates and his nomination form has been filled. Today the application is being scrutinized and we have objected to the application of that independent candidate.”

Surendra Pathare added by saying, “There are many errors in this candidate’s application. Also, the affidavit of the candidate’s application has not been made public by the Election Officer. This independent candidate has not disclosed his loan in the application form. Also, we have objected as the money in the bank is not mentioned. Since the candidates who are our rivals have already seen their defeat, they have fielded such dummy candidates.”

Speaking on this, Election Officer Sachin Barwakar said, “The scrutiny has started today and so far 23 candidates have been scrutinized and the objection has been raised against the 24th candidate Bapu Baban Pathare. That application has been scrutinized and his application has been approved. As the candidature of Bapu Baban Pathare has been decided today, there is a picture of confusion among the voters as both the candidate of NCP Sharad Chandra Pawar party Bapu Pathare and the independent candidate Bapu Pathare have the same name in Vadgaon Sheri Constituency.”
