As the nation gears up to celebrate the festival of lights the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light to moderate rainfall in some districts of Maharashtra between October 29 and October 31.
Maharashtra witnessed heavy rainfall in some isolated areas in the second week of October. A low-pressure area over the Arabian Sea and a low-pressure belt formed over the Bay of Bengal caused widespread rainfall across the state. However the rains have reduced from the past week however, the citizens experienced the ‘October heat’ due to the rise in temperature.
The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate rain, thundershowers and gusty winds of 30-40 kmph over Konkan, West Maharashtra, and Central Maharashtra. IMD has also predicted rains in Nanded, Hingoli, Beed, Latur, Dharashiv and Parbhani districts in Marathwada along with some districts in Vidarbha today and tomorrow.
