Daund (Pune) – In a major political development that is being termed a “political earthquake” in Daund taluka, several influential local leaders officially joined the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) on Tuesday in Mumbai. The induction took place at the party’s headquarters under the leadership of Deputy Chief Minister and NCP National President Ajit Pawar, in the presence of hundreds of their supporters.
Prominent among the new entrants were former Deputy Municipal Council Chief Vilas Shitole, Wasim Shaikh, former Deputy Chairperson of the Daund Panchayat Samiti Sushant Darekar, Prakash Navale, Market Committee Director Popatrao Takawane, Co-operative Society Director Nanasaheb Jedhe, Vice Chairperson Sayaji Takawane, Subhash Bhotre, Vishal Baravkar, Sagar Jadhav, former Corporator Jeevraj Pawar, Rajesh Gaikwad, Afzal Pansare, and Prashant Dhanve.
With these significant additions, the organizational strength of the NCP in Daund taluka has been considerably bolstered. Party leaders expressed confidence that this move will prove to be a “game changer” in the run-up to upcoming local body and assembly elections. The induction is being seen as a major turning point in the political landscape of Daund.
This is the first and largest mass entry into the party since Nitin Dorge assumed the role of Taluka President.
The induction ceremony was attended by former Zilla Parishad member Veerdhawal Jagdale, NCP state spokesperson Vaishali Nagwade, Daund Taluka President Nitin Dorge, Youth Taluka President Sagar Phadke, City Youth President Nikhil Swami, along with Anil Nagwade, Gurumukh Narang, and Mahesh Bhagwat.
